Dafni

Dafni is possibly in the middle of the southwest coast of the holy mountain and is the main harbour of the monk's republic. There after around one and a half-hour journey the ships from Ouranoupoli put in which carry daily up to 120 orthodox pilgrims and 10 other religious denominations.

From Dafni some monasteries are also headed in the southwest of the monk's republic which dispose of own moorings. Otherwise a bus operates twice per day to Karies, the capital of the holy mountain.

In the location itself there are a post station, a customs office, a police station as well as an office of the harbour police. In addition, there is a hotel, a restaurant and a food store.
